Our Dyslexia Assessment Working Group, chaired by Dr. Margaret Crombie, has developed a web-based toolkit for early years workers and teachers to use to assess literacy difficulties and dyslexia.

Funded by the Scottish Government, this web-based toolkit will help teachers and early years staff to identify literacy difficulties early.

The pilot toolkit was launched at Aberdeen University on 23 January and comments have been received from early years staff and teachers since then.

The Assessing Dyslexia tookit was formally launched by our President, Sir Jackie Stewart, and Mike Russell, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning on 1st June.

There will be 4 regional dissemination events in local authorities from August - December 2010. Watch this space for news of our dissemination plans for this toolkit.
